Mrs. Rose K. Allen, 68. Salem, formerly of Burlington, died at St. Francis hospital Thursday at 1:50 p.m. She had been hospitalized nine months.
She was born Nov. 4, 1896 in Chester, IL, the daughter of MInnie Graf and James T. Donahue. She was married May 17, 1917, at New London, to Herbert Wendell Allen. She was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Mrs. Elizabeth Schwerin, Clyde W. Allen, Thomas J. Allen and James T. Allen, all of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Madeline Campbell, Cottage Hills, IL and Helen Donahue, Coal Valley, IL; two brothers, Edwayd, Cottage Hills, IL and William, St. Louis, MO; and a number of nieces and nephews. A son, a brother and three sisters are dead.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Prugh's chapel, the Rev. Warren McFate officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
