Eleanor "Elly" Richmond Osbourne 80, of Burlington, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at Burlington Medical Center Klein Unit. Born Jan. 14, 1918, in Hannibal, Mo., she was the daughter of George E. and Anna Johnston Richmond. On Aug. 26, 1943, she married William Glen Osbourne in Hannibal, Mo. Mrs. Osbourne was a graduate of Hannibal High School and Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. She retired in 1977 after 20 years as a teacher with the Burlington School District. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington. She enjoyed crafts, painting, and taking care of her family. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Glen R."Rick" Osbourne of Lombard, Ill., John C. "Chip" Osbourne of Grapevine, Texas, and Robert M. "Mac" Osbourne of Burlington; six grandchildren; two brothers, John Richmond of Springfield, Mo., and Dean Richmond of Russellville, Ark.; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Sunday at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The body of Mrs. Osbourne will be cremated following visitation.
