Margaret A. Donlan, 78, of Burlington, died at 7:52 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born May 14, 1931, in Monmouth, IL, she was the daughter of Harold and Florence Sheet Bowman. On March 13, 1954, she married James L. Donlan in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1993. Mrs. Donlan was a homemaker. She worked many years at Lehigh Leopold Desk Company. She was of the Catholic faith, and belonged to the Burlington Gym, Moose and Eagles. She enjoyed fishing, and especially being with her grand- children and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, James (Melodee) Donlan of Carman, Illinois, and Mark (Colleen) Donlan of Burlington; one daughter, Angela Ashbaker of Burlington, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 18 grandchildren; one sister, Virginia McGinity, of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jeffery Donlan; one daughter, Kayla Jean; six brothers; and one sister. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31st, in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Donlan will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 1st, in Lunning Chapel, with Rev. David Steinle officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established in honor of Margaret.
