Obituary
Luise Bruckner Dodson, well known as "Weezie", of Burlington, IA, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, after bravely dealing with significant health issues.
She was born in Munich, GE on July 7, 1930 to Max and Luise Loener Bruckner and attended Munich schools with her brother and two sisters. She was a Production Specialist at TRW Capital for 14 years and worked at Exide for 18 years. When she met Chester Dodson, well known as "Sarge", he just swept her off her feet. Sarge asked for her hand in marriage on March 17, 1962. They moved to Burlington that same year. Weezie was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Eagles, and Moose Auxillary. She was a Lutheran in faith.
She and Sarge loved to dance and she enjoyed listening to her husband play the piano. She would also do a little yodeling with just a little prodding. After Sarge passed, Weezie continued his volunteer jobs at the Moose and Eagles Lodges cooking Sarge's fried chicken. She later became a co-owner of the Coyote Bar & Grill in Burlington.
Weezie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sisters Elsie and Margaret Bruckner, Brother Max Bruckner, and daughter Druann Brattian. Survivors include her sons CSM (R) Paul L. Dodson, Sr. (Lansing, KS) and David Dodson (Bermuda), granddaughters Vivian Broadley (Taylorsville, KY) and Carol Paul (Cincinnati, OH), several great granddaughters and great grandsons, nephew Adam Offenbecher (Darlene) (Menomonee Falls WI), niece Ines Freund (Stefan) (GE), several great nephews and great nieces in Germany, loving caretakers Boston and Pam Hayes (West Burlington), and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the grave site at Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Evangelist Paul L. Dodson, Sr. officiating.
