James "Jim" L. Dodge, 74, of Burlington died at 1:25 AM Saturday, October 8, 2016, at his home.
Born November 13, 1941, in Burlington, he was the son of Frank Charles and Nellie Ann (Wisener) Dodge. On June 11, 1966, he married Carol A. Fry in Burlington.
Jim graduated from Burlington High School class of 1959.He served in the U.S. Air Force serving in Rosa, Spain and Frankfort, Germany.
Jim was owner of J.D. Electric since 1987. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Club, Carthage Lake Club, past member of the Burlington Golf Club and Kelly Greens Golf Club of Ft. Meyers, FL. He was a member of I.B.E.W Local 13 Electricians, National Electrical Contractors Association, and V.F.W. in Ft. Meyers, FL.
Jim enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, hunting, fishing, golfing, and loved to spend his winters in Ft. Meyers.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carol A. Dodge of Burlington; son Troy A. (Amy) Dodge and their daughter DeLana Dodge of Burlington; son Blake M.(Amy) Dodge and their children Clay and Ally Dodge of Littleton, CO; sister Jean Ann Riley of Burlington; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Noon until 7 PM Tuesday, October 11th, at the Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends 5 until 7 PM.
The funeral service for Mr. Jim Dodge will be 10:30 AM. Wednesday, October 12th, 2016, at Lunning Chapel with Rev. Paul Hermansen officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church and the Elks Club.
