Lance Reed Dillener, 54, of West Burlington, formerly of Burlington, died at 10:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, at his residence. Born November 7, 1951, in Osceola, he was the son of Oris Reed and Velma Randolph Dillener. On November 18, 1988 he married Theresa Spiker. They later divorced. Mr. Dillener worked for J. I. Case Co. for almost 30 years, prior to that he worked at Modern Welding. He most recently worked at Vista Bakery. He was a 1970 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College for one year. He was of the Methodist faith and most recently attended New Hope Community Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed the river, being outdoors, and boats. Survivors include his mother, Velma Dillener of West Burlington; one step-son, Drew Spiker of Prattville, Alabama; one sister Sondra Astfalk of West Burlington; two nieces, Suzanne Todd of West Burlington, and Christina Hardy of Richfield, Minnesota; four great-nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial has been established.
