Helen V. Dickman, 91, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Danville and West Burlington, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit. Born Nov. 8, 1915, in Missouri, she was the daughter of Clyde and Nora Russell Austin. On Oct. 12,1940, she married Clarence Dickman in Chillicothe, Mo. He died Oct. 13, 1975. Mrs. Dickman was a homemaker. She graduated high school in Laredo. She was of the Presbyterian faith. She had an interest in antiques and enjoyed shopping and working in her garden. Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Cross of Mount Pleasant; one son, Jim Dickman of Pasco, Wash.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. The family will meet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The funeral for Mrs. Dickman will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bill Saizmann officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
