Bonnie A. Denato, 77, of Burlington, died at 5:55 a.m. Sunday, January 9, 2005 at her home. Born August 2, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Walter A. and Elizabeth E. Zeller McCannon. On September 27, 1941, she married Quinto R. Denato in Kahoka, Missouri. Mrs. Denato was a cashier at Hy-Vee #1 for 25 years before retiring. She also was a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and involved in church activities. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Rhonda Rice of Sperry; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and two daughters. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Denato will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jason Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Lee County No Kill Animal Shelter and the Des Moines County Animal Shelter.
