Paul Forrest DeJaynes, 91, of Burlington, died at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Great River Medical Center. Born Sept. 13, 1909, in Augusta, Ill., he was the son of Elmer and Sybil Webster DeJaynes. On May 26, 1934, he married Lucille Elsie Dravis in Kingston. She died Sept. 16, 2000. Mr. DeJaynes was a graduate of Augusta (Ill.) High School. He worked as a clerk at Drake Hardware for 15 years, retirng in 1980, and also worked at Blaul & Sons Wholesale. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and the Teamsters Union. Survivors include two sons, Gerald B. DeJaynes of Fayetteville, N.C., and Donald E. DeJaynes of Gladstone, Ill.; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Glendon DeJaynes of New London; nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. DeJaynes will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Dick Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
