David DeFosse, 59, of Burlington, died Monday, November 30, 2009, in rural Oquawka, Ill. Born November 3, 1950, in Burlington, he was the son of Gene Leon and Doris Ruth Savage DeFosse. On January 20, 1973, he married Linda Buxton in Burlington. Mr. DeFosse worked as a supervisor at J.I. Case Co., retiring October, 2006. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed nature, fishing, and hunting, and was a Cardinal and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chris DeFosse of LaSalle, Ill., and Tim DeFosse of Dickinson, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Mills of Burlington; six grandchildren; and one sister, Cindy Reiff of Rock Island, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mr. DeFosse will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Deb Miller-Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
