Obituary

Charles E. Akey, 78, of 2604 yoder Drive, Burlington, died June 16, 1994, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Nov. 13, 1915, in Keosauqua, he was the son of Charles and Mary Giberson Akey. On jan, 16, 1947, he married Margaret Milton in Monmouth, IL.
Mr. Akey had been a farmer and worked at J.I. Case Co.
He was a WWII veteran, had been a school bus driver and was a member of the Flint Hills Nazarene Church.
Surevivors include his wife; two daughters, Deborah Krieger and Peggy Akey, both of Burlington; two sons, Mike Akey of Burlington and Dr. Milton Akey of Allentown, Pa; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister; Alice Akey of Burlington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Sheagren Funeral Home.
The funeral for Mr. Akey qll be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Flint Hill Nazarene Church with the Rev. Ronald Jewett officiating. Burial willbe in the Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the church.
