Richard Charles Adolphson, 69, of 1520 Smith St., Burlington, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 1996 at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Born Aug. 31, 1926, in Burlington, he was the son of Victor and Irene Stroh Adolphson.
Mr. Adolphson graduated from Burlington High School and received an associate of arts degree from Burlington Junior College. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. He served with security police for 47 years at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Middletown. He was a member of VFW Post 9162; he was treasurer of the IAAP Guard Union 22 of the Des moines County Labor Council; he was chief of Mars Station National Guard and a member of American Legion Post 52. He was a member of the New London Christian Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert E. Adolphson of Burlingotn and Herbert Adolphson of Plymouth, MN; nieces and nephews.
Friends may cll after 8 a.m. Sunday at Hass Funeral Home where the family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The service for Mr. Adolphson will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hass Funeral Home with the Rev. Rod Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery with full military honors by VFW Post 9162.
A memorial has been established to Burlingotn Area Catholic Schools fund drive, Commitment '95.
