William J. Edmonds, 71, veteran newspaperman and father of Mrs. R.H. Pemble of Burlington, died at Youngstown South Side hospital, Youngstown, Ohio, Monday at 9:30 p.m. He was born in New York city Nov. 3, 1883. Managing editor of the Youngstown Vindicator, he had worked for the paper for 22 years. He had previously worked for the Kansas City Star. He was of the Protestant faith and a member of the Masonic order. Mrs. Pemble and five grandchildren of Burlington survive. His wife and an infant son died previously. Committal services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Aspen Grove cemetery. Dr. George Hunt will officiate. The body will arrive in Burlington late Wednesday evening. Friends may call at Prugh's chapel Thursday morning, it was announced.
