Emmitt T. "Trey" Danzy, 23, of Burlington, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge. Born Feb. 12, 1977, in Chicago, he was the son of Emmit Brown and Tina Danzy. Mr. Danzy worked in production. He enjoyed time spent with children and family, was a devoted Chicago Bulls and Dallas Cowboy fan, and enjoyed playing basketball. Survivors include his father of Burlington; his mother of St. Paul, Minn.; two daughters, Tre'sha Danzy of Osceola, Ark., and Jazzmeika Taylor of Cedar Rapids; one son, Avree Clark of Fort Madison; three sisters, Deoner Lewis and BreyAnna Blair, both of Burlington, and Sherylann Brown of Chicago; three brothers, Anthony Curry and Ronald Brown, both of Chicago, and Brendon Blair of Burlington; his grandmother, Doretha Thomas of Chicago; one nephew; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one son, one grandmother, two grandfathers, and one uncle. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Danzy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Shirley Lewis and Pastor Linda Wagler officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
