Erma Lowman Czerwiec, 87, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Burlington, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, in St. Petersburg. Born March 28, 1912, in Alexis, Ill., she was the daughter of George W. and Ethel Iker Brown. She married W.W. Lowman. He preceded her in death. She later married Frank Czerwiec on May 24, 1987, in Burlington. Mrs. Czerwiec was a graduate of Alexis (Ill.) High School. She worked at J.S. Schramm's and then worked as a receptionist for Surgeons Inc. in Burlington for 33 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as financial secretary for many years, and was an avid bridge player. Survivors include three nieces, Jackie Butcher of Betterdorf, and Joyce Martin and JoAnne Wiegel, both of Mount Pleasant; one nephew, Gene Brown of Camridge, Ill.; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The funeral for Mrs. Czerwiec will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tyrone Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Burlington Medical Center Klein Unit and First Baptist Church.
