Mrs. Janice Lynn Curley-McCoy, 57, of Burlington died at 11:12 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born December 22, 1956 in Burlington, she was the daughter of James Louis and Shirley (Eastburn) Curley. On November 3, 1995 she married Marvin McCoy Sr. in Burlington. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1996.
Mrs. Curley-McCoy was a Burlington High School graduate. She worked at Skerik Auto Parts, helped her husband in his construction business, McCoy Construction, and for the last 17 years was a dredge operator at Cessford Construction.
Mrs. Curley-McCoy loved going to work and her work at Cessford. She loved being outdoors, being in the water, swimming and time spent on the river. She was an avid Cubs and Bears fan and loved her pets and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Joe (Sami) Curley and Brent McCoy both of Burlington; one daughter, Cody McCoy of Burlington; four grandchildren, Connor, Cohen and Charli Curley and Breana Range-McCoy; two sisters, Barb (Bob) Drew of Burlington and Mary Daedlow of Burlington; one brother, Steven Curley of Burlington; two nieces, Gina Drew of Portland, Oregon and Marianne (Mike) Briggs of Burlington; and one nephew, Ryan (Amy) Drew of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepson Marvin McCoy Jr. and brother-in-law Dennis Daedlow.
The funeral service for Mrs. Curley-McCoy will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 31st, at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Dean Graber officiating. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
A memorial has been established.
