Funeral for John E. Cummings, 76, of 1906 Orchard, who died Wednesday, Jan. 17, will be held at Lunning Chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday, Fr. Basil Finken officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Mr. Cummings, a retired Burlington Railroad yardmaster, was a native of Canton, Mo. He was born May 2, 1896, the son of John and Lydia Stork Cummings. He served in the Army in World War I. Mr. Cummings married Marie Drebenstedt in Burlington on Mar. 6, 1940. He was a member of the Railroad Veterans and the American Legion. Surviving: The wife; a brother, Harold J. Cummings, St. Paul, Minn.; three sisters, Mrs. Frances howard, Davenport, Mrs. Bernice Davidson, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Antoinette Kibling of Burlington.
