Marian A. Adams, 89, of Indianola, formerly of Burlington, died Monday, May 17,1999, in Indianola. Born April 3, 1910, in Osage, she was the daughter of Henry Clay and Sylvia Anna Birran Tucker. Upon her father's death, she was adopted and raised by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mayers of Augusta. On March 23, 1929, she married Howard M. Adams in Oskaloosa. He died December 16, 1981. Mrs. Adams was a housewife, and was owner/operator of Mode-O-Day Dress Shop in Burlington. She was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include one son, Doyle Adams of Indianola; one daughter, Beverly Steenhoek of Fairfax; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline Mulford of Weslaco, Texas. There will be no visitation. The graveside funeral for Mrs. Adams will be at 2 p.m. today in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, with the Rev. Dennis Tevis officiating.
