Sandra Joan Coontz Waler, 61, of Lockridge, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield. Born Nov. 19, 1940, in Alexis, ill., she was the daughter of Roy and Mildred E. Harrison Beebe. On Nov. 11, 1957, she married Richard M. Coontz in West Burlington. He died Oct. 30, 1966. She then married John Marc Walker. They later divorced. Mrs. Walker was an assembler at Heatilator Fireplaces, worked for Winegard, Sylvania and was a bartender for the Eagles Club in Fairfield. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Eagles Club of Fairfield. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, crafts, making large meals, baking and was a Christmas fanatic. Surviving include one daughter, Kimberly S. Swanson of Lockridge; one son, Richard A. Coontz of Yarmouth; five grandchildren; one brother, Leroy W. Beebe of Lockridge; and two sisters, Janet k. Ulrich of West Burlington and Patricia A. Kern of Wolf City, Texas. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather and one brother. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's chapel. The funeral for Mrs. Walker will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with Pastor Dianne Brokken officiating. Following the service, the body wil be cremated. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established for First Responders of Lockridge.
