Earl Laverne Adair, 87, of Burlington, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Sept 28, 2003, at Burlington Care Center.
Born Sept. 16, 1916, in Biggsville, IL he was the son of Earl Henry and Anna Perdue Adair. On March 14, 1936, he married Virginia Doris Anderson in Palmyra, MO.
Mr. Adair was a retired mail sorter for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a WWII Navy veteran and member of BPOE84 Elks, Eagles Lodge, and Postal Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Laverne Adair of Nashville, Tenn, and Richard Earl Adair of Urbandale; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service for Mr. Adair will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Trinity Lutheran Church and Hospice.
