Virginia Doris Adair, 93, of Burlington, died at 2:47 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Blair House Nursing & Rehab in Burlington. Born November 24, 1916, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Anderson. On March 14, 1936, she married Earl Laverne Adair in Palmyra, MO. He died September 28, 2003. Mrs. Adair was a homemaker and worked at Schramm's Department Store. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include two sons, Richard E. "Dick" Adair of Urbandale and Gary L. Adair of Nashville, Tenn.; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Adair will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. Kendall Adams officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
