Lloyd Leo Cluney, 63, of Middletown, died at 5:42 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at his home. Born September 3, 1945, in Burlington, he was the son of Nelson and Blanche Heller Cluney. On August 19, 1964, he married Shirley Piper. They divorced. On April 9, 1994, he married Linda Gittings. They divorced. Mr. Cluney worked as a manager of Sieg Auto Parts for 28 years, and for Brockway Mechanical and Roofing Co. for 10 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Burlington High School. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, working in his garage, and watching the Denver Broncos. Survivors include two daughters, Sherri Gorrell of Burlington, and Donna Wirt of Mediapolis; two stepdaughters, Karie Parrott and Jennifer Beck, both of Danville; one stepson, James Gittings of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; five brothers, Harley Cluney of Glasford, Ill., Richard Cluney of Danville, Eugene Cluney of Pleasant Hill, Harold Cluney of Burlington, and Paul Cluney of Monterrey, Tenn.; and one sister, Leona Pitts of Middletown. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God Church in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The body has been cremated. The memorial service for Mr. Cluney will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. James Cluney officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice. Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
