Helen Gertrude Clover, 81, 105 Orchard Place, Burlington, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 1998, at St. Francis Care Center. Born June 22, 1917, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Michael and Louise Schach Flynn. On July 21, 1948, she married Dean Clover in St. Louis. Mrs. Clover was a 1933 graduate of Burlington High School. She was office manager at J.S. Schramm Co., and worked at Franklin Floors. She retired from the Hirsch Law Office. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, PEO Chapter P, King's Daughters, Avesta Class of the Church, Delta Queen-Mark Twain Association, and was a sustaining member of Des Moines County Historical Society. She was an avid bridge player, loved to travel, and spend time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Louise Burman of Middletown, Kathryn Heaford of Dysart, and Bob Olberding of Dyersville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sheagren Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Clover will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Unnited Methodist Church, with the Rev. Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Grace United Methodist Church, and St. Francis Care Center.
