It is with sadness that we report the passing of Mrs. Booth, a longtime resident of Arch Street in Burlington for 44 years. She passed away on Sunday morning at 12:30 at Burlington hospital after a brief illness. Mrs. Booth was born on November 3, 1858, in Henderson County, Illinois, to John and Anna Smith.
She was married to Mr. Hooper, a physician in Stronghurst, Illinois, until his passing on April 29, 1896. Later, she married Harve Booth, a Civil War veteran who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Booth was an active member of the First Christian Church, where she contributed to the Missionary Society and Ladies Aid Society. She is survived by two daughters, Katherine Sandstrom of Biggsville, Illinois, and Mrs. Lizzie Duke of Monmouth.
