Waneta Maxine Cline, 78, of Iowa City, formerly of Burlington, died at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born July 31, 1932, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William and Martha Revena Moyers Cross. On September 22, 1950, she married Robert Cline in Burlington. He died in 1982. Mrs. Cline owned and operated Cline's Costume Shop in Burlington for 20 years. She was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed writing children's stories and sharing them with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, and sewing costumes and garments for the costume shop. Survivors include one daughter, Cindy Rogerson of Coralville; two sons, Steve Cline of Burlington, and Scott Cline of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, William Cross, Lloyd Cross, Wesley Cross, and Walter Cross; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, her parents, one brother, and one sister. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mrs. Cline will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Rev. George Rogerson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
