Mrs. Mary Jane Bone, 94, died in Mercy Hospital at 5:30 this morning after an extended illness. She had made her residence at the Old Peoples’ home on Garfield Avenue for a number of years before being taken to the hospital more than a year and a half ago.
Mary Jane Wood was born near Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 27, 1837, and married there to John Bone. The family came to Burlington in 1872, from Illinois, and Mrs. Bone has resided here since that time. Her husband died a number of years ago. She was a member of the Christian church and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Theodore Niehaus of Burlington. Four children preceded her in death; Mollie Ann Eliza at two years of age; Lilley Kate at six years of age; Frank Oliver at ten years of age, and Belle, the first child at 17 years of age.
Funeral services will be held in Unterkircher’s funeral home, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the charge of Rev. AT Browning, with burial in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
