Donald Curtis Bonar, 34, former resident, died at Holland, Mich., Sunday at 11:30 p.m., after an extended illness. He was a disabled veteran of WW2.
He was born in Burlington, March 20, 1914, the son of Clifford and Magdelena Boecker Bonar. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Burlington, and a member of the Eagles Lodge of Holland, Mich.
Surviving are his father, of Burlington; 2 sisters, Evelyn Bonar, Burbank, Calif., and Mrs. Margaret Schmidt of Burlington; 3 brothers, Clyde of Flint, Mich., and Francis of Burlington, and James of Route one, Burlington.
Services will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic church. The cortege will leave Prugh’s chapel at 8:00. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited in Prugh’s chapel Tuesday at 7:30 pm.
His brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bonar of Pontiac, Mich., and his aunt, Mrs. Clara Shouse, with whom he made his home since being discharged from the army in 1945, accompanied the body to Burlington Tuesday morning.
