Obituary

Carl D. Bonar, 86-year-old Morning Sun farm-owner, was found dead in bed in the house on his farm four miles northeast of Fairfield Wednesday morning.

Bonar's body was discovered by his son-in-law, Paul Swafford, Fairfield rural, who had gone to the farm to help his father-in-law with some work.

Jack Raymond, Jefferson county coroner, said the man had died during the night of natural causes, and that no inquest would be held.

Bonar arrived at the farm about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Bonar, a member of Burlington's Walnut Street Baptist church, was born March 24, 1886, in South Dakota, a son of the late Gilbert and Fannie Bonar. He was married December 16, 1908, in Burlington, to the former Lula Barkus.

Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Swafford, Fairfield; 4 sons, Delbert, Earl and Ervin of Morning Sun and Glen of Yarmouth; a brother, Lester of Newberg, Oregon; 2 sisters, Mrs. A. L. Danielson and Mrs. James Graham, both of Burlington; and 10 grandchildren.

The body was taken to Prugh's chapel in Burlington. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
