Obituary
Nelle Bomaster, 95, died at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday following an extended illness.
She was born in Burlington on Jan 16, 1864. For 54 years she taught in Burlington schools, retiring in June 1935.
She first taught in the old South Hill (now Salter) school and later in the West Madison (now Perkins) school.
She was a member of First Methodist church for over 60 years, and for 45 years was a board member of the YWCA.
Miss Bomaster was a charter member of Sheldon Circle of King’s Daughters.
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. H.A. Shepherd, Miami, Fla.; a nephew, Charles Maddox, Reno, Nev.; a grandniece, Jaunita Ryden Crane, Yakima, Wash.; a grandnephew, Robert Ryden, Seattle, Wash.; and a cousin, Florence Zimmerman, Burlington.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Prugh’s chapel with Dr. George G. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
