Obituary
Patrick Boyle, an old-time and much-respected citizen of Burlington died at seven o’clock this morning, at his home, 318 Shields Street.
The deceased was 71 years of age and lived here for the past forty-six years. He was most industrious at all times and was engaged in the occupation of teaming, which he continued until the time of his retirement, three years ago.
He has been sick for the past few months and continued to grow weaker until he succumbed to the inevitable this morning.
As a man he was liked by all with whom he came in contact. On account of his hard work and industrious habits, he contrived to support his large family and give them almost everything they desired, besides saving some, and at the time of his death he owned considerable property.
Mr. Boyle was always honest and fair in his dealings with everyone, and his reputation of being a man of this kind was known by all.
He is survived by one brother and three sisters: Mrs. JW Slingluff, of the city, Mrs. RS Dunbar and Mrs. WK Roach, of Parson, Kansas. His two daughters are sisters in a convent one at Dubuque and the other in Chicago.
Six sons also survive him, who are Thomas Boyle, of this city; Eddie Boyle, St. Louis; Lewis and Philip Boyle, this city; Harry Boyle, Omaha; and John A. Boyle, Toledo, Ohio.
