Obituary
Fred C. Wehman, formerly of the firm of Wehman and Ebert, wagon makers, and resident of Burlington for three-quarters of a century, died suddenly yesterday morning at 7 o'clock at his home, 706 Summer street. Born in Hanover, Germany, March 21, 1850, Mr. Wehman came to America and direct to Burlington with his parents when two years old and had resided here since. He was married to Miss Emma Wagner, November 3, 1879, and she preceded him in death last May. He was a charter member of St. Luke's church and a member of Washington lodge No. 1 I.O.O.F. For many years he was associated in business with Henry Ebert and the firm was known as Wehman, and Ebert. He retired from active business 20 years ago. Surviving are four children, George Wehman of Eagle Point, Ore., Arthur Wehman of Indianapolis, Ind., Florence Wehman of Burlington and Laura Wehman of Casper, Wyo., and one grandchild, Arlene Wehman. Two children preceded him in death in infancy and a son, Arnold passed away in 1922. His body was taken to the Unterkircher funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
