Obituary
Having just buried her mother, Mrs. Anna Nelson, Mrs. Henry Bokenkamp and her husband were called to Peoria, Ill., yesterday because of the serious illness of their son, Marvin H. Bokenkamp, and last evening word was received in this city telling of his death.
The young man succumbed to a severe attack of influenza and had been ill for only a few days. He was born in Burlington thirty-one years ago and after being graduated from local schools, he assisted his father, who is one of the leading building contractors and for the past five years has served the city as building commissioner.
He was united in marriage to Miss Helen Hurd of this city and about two years ago he left for Peoria. Besides his wife, little daughter, and his parents, he leaves behind one brother, Howard Bokenkamp, with the American Army of Occupation in Germany, and a sister Mrs. GB Crow or Portsmouth, Va.
Funeral services for Marvin H. Bokenkamp will take place from the residence of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bokenkamp, 1214 Angular Street at 10:00 am Thursday. Rev. Mr. Longnecker of the Grace ME Church will officiate. The Masons will have charge of the services at the cemetery. The burial will take place at 4:00.
