Dorthea "Dora" Gerdom Bohn was born on March 2, 1880 in Germany to John Gabriel and Caroline Moehlman Gerdom. She immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1882.
Dora had eleven brothers and sisters, Louise (Lizzie), Caroline "Lena", Anna, Julia (died as a child), John G. (died as an infant), Minnie, Unnamed boy (died as a infant), John D. (died as an infant), Unnamed boy (died as an infant)and twins Amelia who died at age three and Emil.
Dora married William Bohn in 1907. They had three children, Edna, Dorothy, and Wilber
