Obituary
Norman Wedertz, 49, of 1212 Virginia avenue, died at his home last night, after an illness of nearly a year. Mr. Wedertz was a native and lifelong resident of Burlington, and until his illness caused him to discontinue his work he was foreman at the Burlington Basket company. He was well known here, especially for his interest in music. Since he was 16 years old Mr. Wedertz had sung in First Evangelical church choir. He was also in charge of a quartet which sang at home talent productions in the city for a number of years and he participated in several plays given by the drama league. Mr. Wedertz was born in Burlington, Dec. 17, 1881. He was a member of First Evangelical church, Excelsior lodge, independent Order of Odd Fellows, A.O.U.W. and Eagles lodges. he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna Suesens Wedertz; two children, Norman Suesens Wesertz and Virginia NAomi Wedertz; his mother, Mrs. Henry J. Gerdom and stepfather, Henry J. Gerdom of Burlington; one brother, Albert Gerdom of Burlington, and five sisters, Mrs. John Klappmeier, Amsterdam, N.Y.; Mrs. Frank Nebiker, Mrs. Selma Rentzsch, Mrs. Otto Daum and Miss Florence Gerdom, all of Burlington. Funeral services will be held at First Evangelical church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, preceded by private services at the home at 1:30. The body will be taken to the home from Prugh's chapel Friday.
