Obituary
William W. Boettcher, veteran custodian of Grimes School, died yesterday afternoon at 2:45 at his home, 1212 South Seventh Street. He was 87 years old and was employed at the school for 17 years. He retired 20 years ago.
Mr. Boettcher came to Burlington as a young man from Germany where he was born, on Feb. 2, 1942. He was one of the members of the old South Central Avenue ME church now merged with Harrison Avenue church.
Shortly after coming to Burlington Mr. Boettcher was married to Dorothea Schultke, and to this union two children were born, William Boettcher and Mrs. George Matzka, both of Burlington who survive. His wife died in 1913.
The body was taken to the Burnett-Wallen funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Harrison Avenue church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the charge of Rev. CH Boos preceded by short services at the residence at 1:45. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Friends may see the body at Burnett-Wallen’s until 9 o’clock. Friends are requested to omit flowers.
