Mrs. Dorothy Boettcher, the beloved wife of William Boettcher, passed away Friday night after an extended illness. The funeral will be held from the family home, No. 1212 South Seventh Street. Monday afternoon at two o’clock. Dorothy Schiltke was born in Zehtingen, Germany, June 13, 1845, came to Burlington in 1869, and was married here to William Boettcher in 1870. She is survived by the husband and two children. William and Annie, both at home. Mrs. Boettcher was an earnest and devout member of the German Methodist church on Locust Street, a good woman, who was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. Many will attend the services in her honor, and she will ever be held in kindly remembrance in the wide circle of her acquaintance.
