Oscar John Weber, 76, longtime local tavern operator, died Sunday at 12:30 a.m. at his home, 1004 Iowa street, after being in failing health for several months. He was born Oct. 19, 1871, in Burlington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Weber. On April 21, 1897, he married Mary Louise Ellerhoff in Latty. He had operated a tavern in Burlington for 50 years and retired 5 years ago. He was a member of the Hawkeye Natives. Surviving are the widow; a daughter, Gladys, at home, and 2 sisters, Mrs. James Reynolds and Mrs. George Heinlen of Monrovia, Calif. Services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in Prugh's chapel. Rev. John Poole will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
