Obituary

Henry Weber, one of Burlington's oldest and most highly respected citizens of German birth, passed away at Mercy hospital at 5:00 o'clock yesterday morning, after a lingering illness. He was born in Kassel, Germany, May, 1829, and came to this country in 1852, locating in Louisville, Ky., where he was married. The young couple came to Burlington in 1854 and this city remained their home. Mrs. Weber passed on to the other shore in July, 1911. The happy union was not blessed by children, but there is an adopted son, who lives in Topeka, Kansas. Mr. Weber was a carpenter by trade and he kept busy until the burden of the years compelled him to lay aside the tools. He lived No. 1311 Flora street and in the course of the years had learned much about plants and trees, had a fine vineyard and orchard. Personally, he was one of the most likable of men. All who knew him will hold him in kindly remembrance. Mr. Weber was a faithful member of the Bethany Lutheran church. The funeral will be held from the Burnett undertaking establishment at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, with interment in Aspen Grove. The Rev. Mr. Robert Neumann will have charge of the service to which friends are invited.
