Obituary
Mrs. Frank D. Watson a well known Burlington woman, died at the Burlington hospital last night about 6:30 o'clock following an illness of but two days' duration. Frank D. Watson, husband of the decedent, is critically ill at his home and since being informed of his wife's death has gradually grown worse and it is feared the shock may result seriously. A kindly Christian woman was Mrs. Watson, intensely devoted to her family and friends. Her suny disposition endeared her to all fortunate enough to know her and her death is a sad blow to her circle of intimates and to her family. Minerva Ellen Hannum was botn near Kossuth, iowa, August 12, 1858, the daughter of Alexander and Adeline Hannum. The family moved to Burlington when she was but three years of age and she has lived here continuously to the end of her days. She was married November 10, 1879, to Frank D. Watson, who has been a conductor in the Burlington route service many years. This union proved a truly happy one and was blessed with three children, of whom Winifred, wife of P.B. Warr, and Frank Raymond Watson, preceded her to the other shore. The husband and a daughter, Mrs. Fred Niemeyer; a grandson, Jack Warr; four sisters and a brother and the aged mother, who lives in Kansas City, survive.
