Obituary

Mrs. Irma M. Watson, 74, of 911 N. Sixth, died Thursday at 4 a.m. at home. A native of Burlington, she was born Apr. 26, 1890. the daughter of D.S. and Josephine Fillick Cooper. She moved to the Canal Zone where she was employed by the government as an accountant when she was a young woman. She was married in 1938 to Roy R. Watson in the Canal Zone. He died in 1943, Mrs. Watson returned to Burlington in 1946 and made her home with her sister, Mrs. Flora Kendall, at 911 N. Sixth. She was a member of St. Agnes Guild and the Christ Episcopal church. Surviving besides her sister are two nephews, David Cooper of Omaha, Neb.; James Cooper, Des Moines; two step-sons, John Watson, West Palm Beach; Robert Watson of Costa Rica; a step-daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Everson, Canal Zone, and several step-grandchildren. The body was cremated. Private committal services will be held Saturday 3:30 p.m. at Aspen Grove cemetery with the Rev. E. William Strauser officiating. Burnett Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
