Mrs. Jane Ann Watkins, 84 of 800 South Thirteenth street, Negro, died at her home today after a long illness. She was born in Missouri the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Meredith Palmer, on Jan. 12, 1851 and had lived here 70 years. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Grant Clark; one brother, William Palmer and a sister, Mrs. Alice Calloway, Burlington, and four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Watkins will be held at Prugh's chapel at 2 p.m. Friday with burial in Aspen Grove cemetery.
