Joseph H. Watkins, a well known colored man, passed away at his home, No. 1033 Brooks street at 8:30 o'clock last evening. He was born in Iowa February 23, 1847 and had lived in Burlington more than fifty years. He leaves the widow and one daughter, Joseph Watkins was a cook by profession and a good one. He was an industrious man and a good citizen and will be held in kindly remembrance by all who knew him. The arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.
