Albert R. Clegg, 91, of Keosauqua, formerly of Burlington, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Keosauqua. Born Oct.19, 1908, in Macon, MO, he was the son of George and Dora Turney Clegg. He married Bonnie E. Peterson in August, 1940, in Alma, Neb. She died Jan. 30, 1980. Mr. Clegg was a World Wr II Army veteran, and the owner of Clegg Confectionary. He also worked as a janitor for F&M Bank and the post office, and assisted his daughter in the operation of a home-based child care. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Wallentine of Burlington; two stepsons, Robert Headley of Williamsburg, and William Headley of Silver Springs, Nev.; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandchild. The body has been cremated. The private graveside burial for Mr. Clegg will be at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
