Carleton Keith Alhstrand, 73, of Fort Madison, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday, August 5, 1990, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, IL.
Born April 25, 1917, in Monmouth, IL, he was the son of Carl J. Ahlstrand and Florence Ahlstrand Colby. He married Betty L. Walker, April 13, 1940 in the Little Brown Church, Sashua, Iowa.
He was the owner-operator of Ahlstrand Electric for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Navy veterna of WWII, a member of the First United Methodist Church, past president of the Fort Madison Lions Club, Fort Madison Elks Lodge, R.S.V.P. and was for several years involved in Junior Achievement.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ike (Sharon) Mertens, St. Paul, and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Mertens, Fort Madison; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call at the Barr memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, after noon Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Barr memorial Chapel.
Services for Mr. Ahlstrand will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Fort Madison, with the Rev. David Dailey officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the church.
