Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Boers, a lifelong resident of Burlington and a woman held in high esteem throughout the city, passed away at the family home, No. 811 Sycamore Street, this morning at 2 o’clock following an illness of some duration.
Mrs. Boers was born in Burlington, February 11, 1861, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Gauer, pioneer settlers of this city, and had made Burlington her home through life.
Her husband is dead and she is survived by one son, Walter, at home; three daughters, Mrs. AJ Ryden and Mrs. WH Diedrich of Burlington and Mrs. HE Brooks of Montana; also by a brother, Frank Gauer of St. Louis, and three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Smith, Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. Elizabeth Zimmer, Chicago; and Mrs. Hary Hertel, of Burlington. There are three grandchildren.
The decedent was favorably known to a large circle of friends in Burlington and they will regret to learn of her death. Mrs. Boers was a member of the First German Evangelical church and the funeral will be held there.
The funeral will be held tomorrow(Friday) afternoon, leaving the home at 2:00 with services at the First German Evangelical Church, corner of Sixth and Columbia streets, at 2:30 and interment in Aspen Grove. Friends are invited to these services.
