CG warren had been an invalid for the past nine years. Was Editor of the First Newspaper in Sioux City. A message from the Pennoyer sanitarium, Kenosha, Wis., today brought the news that C.G. Warren had passed away. The end was not unexpected, and his daughters and his daughters had been with him during the past week, but had returned to Burlington, thinking his condition was improved. Charles Greene Warren was born in Rochester, N.H. September 24, 1837, the youngest son of Joseph and Olive Hurd Warren. his early education, received at Phillips academy, Andover, Mass., was suplemented by three years' training in journalism. late in the 50's he came west to take charge of the first newspaper established in Sioux City, making the ten days' journey across the plains of Iowa in a farm wagon. After a year of pioneer life he returned to Massachusetts, where he served for six years as editor of the Andover Advertiser. When, in 1866, a change of climate and occupation became necessary for the sake of his health, he moved to Burlington and entered mercantile life. For many years he managed the western branch of the Boston metal firm, eventually buying the business and conducting it in partnership with a son of one of the members of the original firm. During the year 1909 he suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which he never recovered, and his last years were spent at the Pennoyer sanitarium in Kenosha, Wis. On June 11, 1860, Mr. Warren married Miss Harriet Elizabeth Marden, of Manchester, N.H., who passed away about five years ago. He is survived by one son, Charles Lincoln Warren, of Chicago, and the Misses Alice, Gertrude and Clara Warren, of this city. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock from the home of his sister at No. 720 North Seventh street, and friends are invited to attend these services. The services in Aspen Grove will be private. It is requested that floral offering be omitted.
