John Franklin Ward, 822 N. Seventh street, stricken with a heart attack in the Eagles lodge club rooms Wednesday night, died enroute to Mercy hospital in the police ambulance. He was born in Burlington , Dec. 19, 1871, the son of Isaac and Margaret Ward. On April 19, 1939, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Hassie Lanning. A former wife is dead. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Eagles Lodge, Loyal Order of Moose, and the Izaak Walton League. Surviving are his widow; and 2 step-children, Clyde Lanning and Geneva Lanning of Burlington. Funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel, Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Deane Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body will be remove to the residence Friday morning, and returned to the chapel Saturday morning.
