George Hildreth Ward, 91 of 1519 S. 14th street, died at his home Tuesday at 5:17 p.m. after an illness of 10 weeks. He was born in Jones county June 19, 1855, the son of John T. and Harriett Chase Ward. On December 14, 1898, he married Eva C. Perry. Surviving are 6 children; Ruth, Joseph, Grace and Hattie Ward, all of Burlington, Arthur Ward, route 1 Mediapolis, and Harry R. Ward, route 1 West Burlington; 9 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Angie Allen of Onslow, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Prugh chapel, Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. O.P. Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
