Mrs. Evaleen C. Ward, 1519 So. 14th street, died at Burlington hospital Thursday night at 10:30 after an extended illness. She was admitted to the hospital five weeks ago. She was born in Burllington April 19, 1871, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth Gregg Perry. On Dec. 14, 1898 she married George H. Ward in Burling. She was a member of First Baptist church and of the Hawkeye Natives society. Surviving are her husband; three sons. Joseph H., Arthur A. and Harry R., all of Des Moines county; three daughters, Ruth, Grace. and Hattie Ward, at home; two half-brothers, Joseph A. Perry, Seattle, Wash.; and Thomas J. Perry, Portland, Ore., and nine grandchildren. A half-brother and a grandchild preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held in Prugh's chapel Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J.T. Parker will officiate. Place of interment will be decided later.
