Obituary
The funeral of Ernst Bock will be held from the family home on Sunnyside Avenue, at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, with interment in Aspen Grove. Deceased was born in Silesia, Germany, August 28, 1847, and looked younger. He ought to have been good for another twenty years, but his death seems to have been due to a general breakdown. He came across the ocean and to Burlington when he was 16 years of age, where his uncle Jerome Bock taught him much of what he knew of the nursery business. Be and By the brothers, Joseph and Ernst established themselves in business on Sunnyside avenue, where they did well. Still, later they established independent nurseries and worked hard, and continued to flourish. Mr. Bock is survived by his widow, Frances, and six children: Clarence, Gertie, Emily, Bernie, Frances, and Jerome, all of this city. He leaves a brother, Oscar, in Germany. He was a member of the Turners but had not become affiliated with any of the fraternal societies, but he was on a fraternal footing with a very large number of people in Burlington, who will honor his memory.
